At Proactive Chiropractic & Sports Medicine, we work to relive you pain and garner you a level of wellbeing you deeply crave. The treatments provided at our Manhattan Beach center fall under chiropractic and orthopedic care, as well as massage therapy, physical therapy, cold laser therapy, acupuncture, and spinal decompression therapy. We also specialize in wellness and maintenance care, with an underlying aim of fixing patients’ problems by addressing their source.
We treat you like family, and make sure you get the best of our progressive multi-specialty approach whether in diagnoses or treatment. Our rehabilitation team is made up of skilled professionals including physical therapists, massage therapists, and occupational therapists. The wide range of specialties we cover allows us to give patients the benefit of conservative treatment of joint, nerve, and muscle problems. These may be from sports-related activity, or from injuries sustained in the workplace or during a car crash. The bottom line is that none of that should hold you back from living your life to the full because of decreased mobility. If it is, then making you able to resume your daily activities becomes our main objective.
It is not uncommon for chiropractic care to be chosen as the primary method of treatment for individuals suffering from pain. If they have a separate medical condition, chiropractic care can be provided in combination with other treatment which is aimed at fixing the issue. The most important tool in the chiropractor’s belt is what they call “spinal manipulation”, where joint mobility is enhanced by manually applying force to the joints in question. An injury is the usual cause of loss in joint mobility, and it usually traces back to the person having experienced a traumatic event. Properly manipulating the tissues restores mobility, and removes the pain that may have appeared due to muscle tightness.
Our chiropractors assess patients through clinical exams, lab testing, diagnostic imaging, etc. This lets them decide on the way to move forward with treatment, and whether or not co-managed care will be required to get the patient free of the pain they are experiencing. In cases where it is needed, the chiropractor immediately refers the patient to the right health care provider.
